When did you start to be interested in art? Why did you choose to draw?

I started to be interested in art and to draw when I was three years old.

Do you remember your first artwork, what was it like?

My first works in the childhood were probably as well as at all children, a bit naive and abstract. But when I have covered with drawings all walls in apartment where I lived with my parents, my father told me that I will grow up and I will become an artist.

What are your favourite topics and why? Is there anything you would not depict? What are your favourite topics and why? Is there anything you would not depict?

My favourite themes are a landscape and a life of ordinary people, peasants living in the country, their work and a life. I am a lot of from a life of peasants drew in China, living for three months in yellow clay mountains of a province of Shansi among simple people. I like to draw the fishing ships and fishermen too, the rivers and the seas. Colour and a plastic art, very much inspires movement and a life of the water environment of the rivers and the seas and beaches. Still I yet have not represented Antarctica, Africa, Greece, Bulgaria and those countries where I yet was not but would like to visit and will get acquainted with a life of people of these countries. It so is interesting to see all the eyes, to live a life of these people and to draw about it pictures.

How education has influenced your creativity and changed your professional way?

I have ended training at children's art school, art school and Academy of arts, having received highly vocational training, in total on training at me 15 years have left. Thanks to this formation I have learnt to draw at traditional school of realism, to understand and be able to draw in different known styles whether it be impressionism, a cubism or Flemish school of masters. Now I teach painting on painting chair in Is art-industrial Academy in the city of St.-Petersburg. But me the realistic school of the letter as I consider is the closest that it can transfer more precisely and sensually life of ordinary people, their grieves and pleasure, their internal inner world.

From which authors do you get inspiration?

I like such artists: Zorn, Rubens, Rembrant, Kokoshka, Gustav Klimt, Repin, Korovin, Levitan, Serov, Marc Chagall, Renoir, Paul Gauguin, Mikeljandzhelo, Leonardo da Vinci.

What, do you think is the place of visual arts in today's life? Do you think art can influence the public life?

That I draw those pictures, I think, are a place of the fine arts in a today's life. If art truthfully represents a life, calls for aspiration to do a life of people better in a dwelling excited environment, calls for awakening of the best human qualities: to kindness, mercy, compassion, mutual aid, justice, and better to say to 10 bible precepts that such art can influence a public life.

Do you think that nationality has its place in art?

Art always was national. Many nationalities lived and live in peace. At each nationality and nations of the world was and there is a original art. With approach of a century of education and travel the mankind got acquainted with art of other people, artists started to adopt experience and traditions of other artists whether it be art of Africa, Ancient Egypt, ancient Greece, ancient Rome or Renaissance of Europe. Synthesis of work of art, philosophy, science began, the way of an information transfer as visual, language, scientific gradually increased, there was a progress of mankind and a life of people on a planet became it becomes better. But together with it the mankind began to be separated, lose the originality and unity, Art and there should be that factor of a unification of nationalities with which help a life on our planet should become better in the blessing all living.

Which books are you reading lately?

Now I read the book "War and peace" of Russian writer Lev Tolstoi.

Are there any projects you are working on at the moment?

Now I work over pictures about war 1941-1945.

How do you see your future?

The future I see myself the artist.

Would you say in one sentence what is the art for you?

Even in the most habitual by what we so often pass indifferently, the true artist will manage to feel and transfer poetry and will force the spectator to see the surrounding differently. It will make soul of the person more rich, more pure. In one offer, what art for me is a life!
