When did you start to be interested in art? Why did you choose to draw?

I started to be interested in art when I was 16-17 years old.

My first artwork was really unsuccessful…

What are your favourite topics and why? Is there anything you would not depict

It’s important not WHAT, but HOW you draw, that’s why I don’t have favorite topics. I would say that every subject is interesting to me.

How education has influenced your creativity and changed your professional way?

I don’t think education influences creativity, you are either creative or you are not, what education can do, however, is broaden one's mind, education is a technical basis to whatever one does with one’s creativity.

From which authors do you get inspiration?

There are a lot of artists in the Russian art at the beginning of 20 century, who are my examples: Levitan, Korovin, Vrubel, etc.

I recently reread monograph about the artist Krimov.

At the moment I’m working on series of night landscapes.

How do you see your future?

I think that my future has already arrived.

Would you say in one sentence what is the art for you?

Painting is not a profession, painting is a state of mind, paraphrasing one of the artists, and it is difficult to disagree
